WHERE I COME FROM
Jeffrey has been a resident of Missouri City - District B since December 2000, and has served in many roles during that time.
Jeffrey is the founder and chief executive officer of the Texas Business Alliance, a nonprofit organization with a mission to equip minority- and women-owned businesses to be qualified suppliers, ready to compete for public, private and international opportunities through progressive development and specialized training.
A THRIVING CAREER
After 11 years, Jeffrey resigned from Washington Mutual Bank at the height of his career to follow his passion to be more of service to small business owners, women in business and youth to work hand-in-hand with them to forge a successful journey. Just prior to launching the Texas Business Alliance, Jeffrey served as president and chief executive officer of the Greater Houston Black Chamber, formerly known as the Houston Citizens Chamber of Commerce (HCCC). He is also one of the founders of The Black Dollar Project, a business initiative created to activate ‘economic empowerment’ between Black businesses and Black consumers in order to promote financial security, wealth building and positive growth.
Jeffrey has successfully developed curriculum and launched three major programs, the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy (YEA), Business Enterprise Academy (BEA) and the One Woman National Business Conference.

EDUCATION AND ACHIEVMENT
Jeffrey is a graduate of Texas Southern University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He has served as an Adjunct Professor, in the school of Business Administration at Houston Community College and has received numerous other awards and recognitions for his business, civic and community involvement, in addition to his leadership skills. He has been honored as an inaugural Houston Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award winner in 2009; one of Fort Bend’s Rising Star Entrepreneurs and Executives by the Fort Bend Business Journal in 2011; 40/40 Series Trail Blazer Award winner in 2014; Outstanding Texan Award recipient from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus
In addition to his many endeavors, Jeffrey is a frequent contributor on various news programs such as "Primetime Justice with Ashleigh Banfield" and "The Nancy Grace Show", and is a highly sought-after public speaker, focusing on social issues, community and economic development, youth empowerment and business issues.
For the past six years, Jeffrey has served as the host of his own nationally-recognized daily radio program called “Real Talk with Jeffrey L. Boney” and currently serves as the Associate Editor for the historic Houston Forward Times, the largest Black-owned, independently published newspaper in the South, where he writes various feature stories and articles, including his popular weekly column called “J Boney Speaks”. He was recently honored nationally at the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) Merit Awards for “Best News Story” and “Best Column Writing” and has received the Merit Award for “Best Feature Story” and the MillerCoors Messenger Awards for “Best Commentary” for his weekly column.
Jeffrey has received numerous awards and recognition for his civic and community involvement and his leadership skills. Jeffrey is a graduate of Project Blueprint, a United Way leadership program, who recently awarded him the Dorothy F. Caram Commitment to Leadership Award on behalf of the United Way. Staying connected to the community, Boney serves in the following capacities: Vice Chair-Missouri City Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program; member of the 100 Black Men of America; member of the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau (BBB), PeopleFund and the Julius and Lenora Carter Scholarship and Youth Foundation; Chairman-Houston Independent School District African American advisory board; advisory board member for the Port of Houston Authority, Texas Southern University Enactus advisory board member; Harris County Sheriff’s Office Small Business advisory council member; past advisory board member for the U.S. Small Business Administration; past member of the Board of Directors and Class XXVII graduate of Leadership Houston, an organization that annually trains an elite group of active business and civic leaders to effect positive change in Houston; past board member for The Forge for Families; and is an active volunteer with several community organizations.

Jeffrey has been married for 24 years to Sharwin Wiltz-Boney.
Together, they have 3 children: Sariah, Jasmine and Joshua.
